My Idea Privacy Policy

This English version is a translation provided for your convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails, and in Quebec, the French version.

Last updated: October 8, 2026 Controller: Alexis Garcia Hurtado, a sole proprietorship registered in Quebec, Canada ("we"), which operates the My Idea application.

1. In short

  • Your ideas are yours. We only use them to provide the service to you: organizing your idea, interviewing you, writing your plan and supporting you as you carry it out.
  • We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. There is no third-party analytics or advertising in the app.
  • For the app to work, some providers process your data on our behalf, some of them outside Quebec (see section 6).
  • You can request access to your data, or its correction, portability or deletion (see section 8).

2. What data we process

Your account data: your email address, your password (stored as a hash, never in plain text) or your identity with the external sign-in provider if you sign in with it, and your security settings (two-step verification, with its secret encrypted and its codes hashed).

Your acceptance of the Terms and of this policy: we ask you to accept them the first time you send your idea to generate your free evaluation, even without an account, before sending anything to the artificial intelligence; browsing the site does not require it. We keep the version you accepted, the language of the text you read (Spanish or French) and the date. Without an account, that record stays with your invisible identity; if you later create your account, it moves to your account and we do not ask you again. If the texts change, we ask you to accept the new version the next time you send your data or sign in with your account, and we keep that one too.

What you write or dictate: the text of your idea exactly as you wrote it, your answers in the interview, your notes, the tasks in your plan and the reasons you give (for example, when you set aside a task or mark your idea as achieved), and the figures for your business that you share with us in Your Numbers (costs, hours, prices, sales).

What the app generates for you: your Clarity, your plan and its cycles, the diagnoses of the worlds, the Full Record, the logbook of your decisions and the dashboard of your numbers.

Your feedback on the app: if you have an account, every now and then we ask how your plan turned out or how your idea is going, and you can write to us from Comments and suggestions, in your account. We keep your rating, the reason and the text you give us, the language and the date and, to understand what it refers to, the idea, the plan and the interview concepts you are talking about. Answering is optional: you can close the question without replying.

Usage and security data: your credits and their transactions (charges, reservations, refunds); the IP address of two-step verification attempts; and, to limit daily use, your IP or your user identifier for a maximum of 48 hours.

Without an account: the first time you visit My Idea we create an invisible identity (an identifier with no email) so you can write your idea without signing up. If you later create your account, your ideas and your acceptance of the Terms and of this policy move to it.

Dictation: when you dictate, speech recognition is done by your browser; we do not record or receive audio, only the text that ends up in the field. Where your browser processes the audio depends on the browser you use: some send the audio to their maker's servers.

3. What we use it for

  • Providing the service to you: saving your ideas and your progress, generating your Clarity, your interview, your plan, your documents and your numbers.
  • Your account and its security: signing in, two-step verification, preventing abuse (daily usage limits).
  • Credits: keeping track of your balance, reserving the price of a piece of work when it starts and charging it only if it is delivered (see section 9).
  • Contacting you about your account (for example, the verification code by email).
  • Improving My Idea: reading your feedback to fix what does not work and to improve the plans. It is not published or shared with other users.

We do not use your ideas for other purposes: we do not sell them, we do not use them for advertising and we do not share them with other users. We do not train AI models with your ideas. Each provider processes your data only for the function stated in section 6.

4. Basis for our processing

We process your data with your consent, which you give when you send your idea for the first time, when you create your account and when you use the service, and to the extent necessary to provide the service you asked for. That consent is recorded, with or without an account: the version of the Terms and of this policy that you accepted and its date (see section 2). You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (see section 8), bearing in mind that without your data we cannot provide the service to you.

5. Artificial intelligence

My Idea uses language models to talk with you and write your documents. To do so, the text of your idea, your answers and the figures you give us are sent to an AI provider (see section 6). The plan you receive is a suggestion for you to decide on: the app makes no decisions about you that have legal effects. The numbers are calculated by deterministic code, not by the AI.

6. Providers that process your data

These providers process data on our behalf, only for the function shown. Several operate outside Quebec.

7. Transfers outside Quebec

Some providers in section 6 process your data outside Quebec, mainly in the United States (see the table in section 6). We work with providers that offer adequate contractual and security protections for the data they process on our behalf, and we only share with each one what is necessary for its function.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

You have the right to:

  • Access your data and know how we use it.
  • Correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete it: you can delete your account from the account center. When you delete it:
    • your account, your ideas, your plans, your tasks and notes, your logbook, your numbers, your credit balance and your reservations, your security data and the record of your acceptances of the Terms and of this policy are deleted;
    • the ideas you wrote before creating your account are also deleted, if they had not yet moved to it;
    • your email is removed from the beta invitation list;
    • your credit history, your refunds and your payment events are anonymized: only the amount (with its type: purchase, use or refund) and the date remain, with no link to you. The tax records of sales are kept by the payment processor.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format. Today you can download your documents (plan, Full Record, logbook) in markdown; if you need a full export of your data in a structured format, write to us (see section 12) and we will prepare it for you.
  • Withdraw your consent and file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (Quebec's access to information commission).

To exercise them, write to the person in charge of the protection of personal information (see section 12). We respond within a maximum of 30 days.

9. Credits and payments

  • Credits are prepaid and there is no subscription: nothing is charged automatically.
  • When you start an action that uses the AI, we reserve its price from your balance; the reservation expires if the action is abandoned. You are only charged if the AI delivers what was promised; a plan put together without AI is delivered free of charge. If something fails after a charge, it is refunded.
  • We keep your credit transactions (charges, reservations, refunds) for as long as your account exists. If you delete it, they become anonymous: only the amount, its type and the date, with no link to you.
  • During the beta, credits are granted manually and buying credits with money is not enabled. Once it is, the payment processor will process the payment data and keep the tax records of sales; we do not store card numbers.

10. Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists, and we delete it when you delete your account, with these exceptions:

  • An encrypted fingerprint (hash) of your email is kept to prevent abuse of welcome offers.
  • The record of your acceptances of the Terms and of this policy is kept for as long as your account exists and is deleted with it. Without an account, it stays with your invisible identity, and it moves to your account if you create one.
  • Your feedback is kept while your account exists and is deleted with it. If you delete an idea, what you said about it is kept without the link to that idea.
  • Usage limits keep your IP or identifier for a maximum of 48 hours.
  • Technical logs from hosting and database backups are kept according to those providers' retention periods.
  • Ideas written without creating an account (with the invisible identity) that never moved to an account are deleted automatically after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Your credit history, your refunds and your payment events are not deleted: they become anonymous (only the amount, its type and the date, with no link to you). The tax records of sales are kept by the payment processor.

11. Security incidents

If a confidentiality incident involving your data occurs and presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and you, and we will take measures to reduce the risk. Every confidentiality incident is entered in a register, as the law requires.

12. Person in charge of the protection of personal information

The person in charge is Alexis Garcia Hurtado, founder of My Idea, at privacy@myideaproject.com (privacy and rights over your personal information). For general support: support@myideaproject.com. Their title and contact details are published in the app. Merchant's mailing address: it will be published here as soon as it is confirmed; in the meantime, you can write to us at support@myideaproject.com.

13. Minors

My Idea is not intended for children under 14. If you are under 14, you need the consent of your parent or guardian to use it.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version with its date. The next time you send your data or sign in with your account, we will ask you to accept the new version, with a line next to the button; we never stop you from browsing the site. If you do not accept it, we do not send your data: you can keep browsing or delete your account. The version in force is always the one published here.
